Cricut Projects to Sell: Ideas, and What a Commercial License Allows

Many cutting projects can be sold, as long as you own the right to use the design and follow the license for how to use it. This page lists project ideas that tend to work for makers, then explains the license rules in plain English. Nothing here is a promise of income; sales depend on your product, photos, price and market. It is also not legal advice. When in doubt about a license, ask the designer or a professional.
Project ideas to consider
Apparel and bags
T-shirts, onesies and tote bags in iron-on vinyl. They are quick once you have set up your sizing and placement, and easy to personalize. See the HTV guide.

Drinkware
Mugs and tumblers with permanent vinyl or heat transfers. Personalized names and short phrases are common.
Stickers
Print-then-cut sticker sheets have low material cost and are easy to ship flat. See the print then cut guide.
Signs and home decor
Round and rectangular wood signs, welcome signs, and seasonal boards. Paint, vinyl or stencils.
Paper goods
Cards, toppers, place cards, banners and paper flowers. See paper flower templates.
Party and event items
Favor tags, decor and labels for birthdays and weddings.
Seasonal items
Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day and spring items. Plan these ahead of the season.
Craft fair items
Small, quick items such as stickers, ornaments and decals sell well at fairs. Test what sells before you stock up.
How to pick what to make
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| How long does one piece take? | Time is part of your cost |
| What does the material cost? | Needed for your price |
| Can you photograph it well? | Photos sell handmade items |
| Does it ship flat or safely? | Shipping can erase margin |
| Can you make 20 without boredom? | Repeatability matters |
What a commercial license usually covers
| Question | Typical answer |
|---|---|
| Can I sell physical items made with the files? | Usually yes, if the license says so |
| Can I sell or share the digital files? | No |
| Can I list the files as digital downloads? | No |
| Can I put them in a bundle or kit? | No |
| Can I upload them to print-on-demand platforms? | Often no |
| Can I use a design as my logo? | Usually no |
| Are there limits on quantity? | Some licenses cap units, so check |
| Do I need to credit the designer? | Depends on the license |
Keep your order confirmation and a copy of the license. If a marketplace asks about your designs, you can show them.
Make your products your own
Many people can use the same file. Add your own lettering, color combinations, packaging and photography to make your products distinct. Do not add trademarked names, characters or logos that you do not have the right to use, even if the file is allowed.
What CutNest Design Library includes for sellers
CutNest Design Library includes the CutNest Commercial License as a PDF, with a quick reference table and examples. In plain terms, it lets you make and sell physical products from the designs, in any quantity, online or in person. It does not let you sell, share or upload the files themselves, put them in a digital product, or use them as a logo. The package also has 60 categories of SVG cut files with DXF versions, 12 project guides, a Start Here guide and a sticker collection with 1,816 stickers.

The Craft Seller Pack, with listing templates, tags and mockups, is a separate optional add-on and is not part of the base package.
